About Us

Puente de Hózhó (PdH) Elementary School is a trilingual language school and an International Baccalaureate (IB) School located in beautiful Flagstaff, Arizona. As part of the Flagstaff Unified School District, PdH is proud to offer two dual-language programs: a Navajo Immersion Program and a Spanish-English Bilingual Program.

Serving students in Kindergarten through 5th grade, PdH is dedicated to nurturing multilingual, culturally aware learners.

Why Puente de Hózhó?

The mission of Puente de Hózhó Elementary School is to build a “bridge of beauty” between speakers and learners of Diné (Navajo), Spanish, and English and empower children to be multicultural and multilingual stewards of the world.

Bilingual Learning

Puente de Hózhó offers two dual-language pathways, Spanish and English and Navajo and English. Students learn grade-level content across all subjects while building strong bilingual skills and cultural pride.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

Puente de Hózhó is Northern Arizona’s only bilingual, IB-accredited elementary school. The IB program supports students in becoming curious, knowledgeable learners and thoughtful global citizens.

Arts and Humanities

Students participate in weekly art, inquiry lab, library, music, and physical education that connect directly to classroom learning and strengthen creativity, curiosity, and whole-child development.

Community and Culture

Puente de Hózhó nurtures a welcoming community where every student, family, and staff member is valued. The school honors culture through meaningful relationships, respect, and shared understanding.
